About This Notice
This notice covers leicesterpainting.co.uk and enquiries sent to [email protected]. Personal information means details that identify you, or that can be connected to you: for example, your name, contact details or the address where you would like work carried out.
For privacy questions, contact [email protected]. You can use this address to ask about your information or request a correction.
Information You Give Us
When You Request a Quote
The website form collects the following details:
- Your name: to identify your enquiry and address you when following up.
- Your phone number: to contact you about the work. This is a required field in the current form.
- Your town or postcode: to understand where the job is and check the location.
- The services you need: interior painting, exterior painting, wallpapering or plastering. You can choose “Not sure” if you need to discuss the work.
- Your email address, if provided: an optional way to contact you.
- Your message, if provided: details such as the rooms, surface condition and work you have in mind.
Your name, phone number, location and service selection are required to submit the form. Email and the message box are optional. If you prefer not to use the form, you can email instead. Enough information is still needed to understand your request and reply.
When You Email
The mailbox receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. The website form has no file-upload field. If you send photographs by email, check that they do not include people, letters, account details or other private information that is unrelated to the work.
Please keep enquiries focused on the job. There is no need to include passwords, bank-card details or identity documents in a quote request.
How Enquiry Information Is Used
The purpose of collecting your enquiry details is to understand the work you need, check the location and contact you about a quote. Follow-up discussions may require more information, such as the full property address, the condition of the surfaces or arrangements for a visit.
If you decide to go ahead with work, relevant details are needed to arrange and carry out the agreed job. Job correspondence, invoices and payment records may also be needed for business and legal record-keeping. Sending the enquiry form itself requests a quote; it does not confirm a booking.
The Legal Grounds for Using Information
Data protection law requires a reason, called a lawful basis, for each use of personal information. The bases relevant to the activities described here are:
- Steps before a contract: responding to a request you make about a possible job.
- Performing a contract: using the information necessary to carry out work you agree to.
- Legal obligations: keeping records where applicable law requires them.
Where Your Enquiry Goes
The current form sends an email notification to [email protected]. It uses WPForms Lite, with email delivery handled through WP Mail SMTP. WPForms Lite Connect entry backups are switched off in the settings checked on 12 September 2026.
Switching off that backup feature does not mean that every copy of an enquiry is immediately deleted. A received email is a separate record; replies, downloaded attachments and mailbox or hosting backups need to be considered separately.
Services Used by the Website
- Hostinger: provides the website hosting and business mailbox.
- Cloudflare: handles requests between your browser and the website and provides traffic protection.
- Wordfence: provides security features within the website.
Delivering and protecting these services can involve technical information, including IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and connection times. This is different from the name, phone number and message you enter into the quote form.
Cookies and Browser Storage
Cookies are small pieces of information a website can store in your browser. Websites can also use local storage or session storage. These are different storage methods, so a page setting no cookies does not necessarily use no browser storage.
WordPress uses a session-storage item called wpEmojiSettingsSupports to remember browser display support. This website also stores your analytics choice locally for up to 180 days. See our Cookie Policy for the storage used and how to change your choice.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand visits, pages viewed and interactions with the website. The Google Analytics tag loads after you select Allow Analytics. You can use the website without analytics and withdraw consent using Analytics Preferences. Withdrawal stops future collection through this setup; it does not erase information already sent.
Analytics can receive browser and device information, approximate location and browsing activity, including page addresses and the site that referred you. We do not intentionally send your name, phone number, email address or enquiry message to Analytics. Please avoid putting personal information in website search terms or page-address parameters.
Google processes Analytics information to provide the service. Its processing can involve servers outside the UK. Read Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from websites that use its services. Optional analytics relies on your consent and is separate from handling a quote request.
Keeping and Deleting Information
Different records can need different retention periods. A quotation enquiry that does not become a job is different from an invoice for completed work. Relevant factors include the reason the information was collected, whether work goes ahead and any applicable record-keeping requirements.
Deletion also needs to take account of where the information exists. Removing a message from an inbox is different from removing an attachment saved elsewhere or waiting for an older backup to be replaced.
You can ask about information connected with your enquiry, including whether it is still held and whether it can be deleted. A deletion request may be limited where a record must be kept to meet a legal obligation.
Your Data Protection Rights
Your rights depend on the information concerned and the reason it is being used. They can include:
- Access: asking for a copy of your personal information and an explanation of its use.
- Correction: asking for inaccurate details to be corrected or incomplete information to be completed.
- Deletion: asking for information to be erased where the legal conditions are met.
- Restriction: asking for certain uses to be paused, for example while an accuracy dispute is considered.
- Objection: objecting to particular uses where that right applies.
- Portability: receiving certain information you supplied in a reusable format, where the processing meets the conditions for that right.
If a use relies on your consent, you can withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not undo processing that was lawful before you withdrew it.
How to Make a Request
Email [email protected]. Explain what you would like to access, correct or delete, and give enough detail to identify the enquiry—for example, the name you used and the approximate date you contacted us. You do not need to quote legislation or use a particular form.
Identity checks may be needed before personal information is disclosed. Do not send a passport or other identity document unless an appropriate check has been explained and requested.
The usual legal response period is one month. Additional time can be permitted for complex or multiple requests, with an explanation of the extension. The applicable deadline can also depend on any necessary identity checks or clarification.
